Who is SBM?
SBM was a group that was formed at the University of NSW with a vision of taking the gospel to the many un-reached people of the Asian sub-continent. With time, this vision expanded to encompass the un-reached sub-continental people beyond the university boundaries. Over the past five years, SBM has been meeting weekly at the St. Andrew’s Church, Strathfield on Thursday nights to pray for the many un-reached sub-continentals in Sydney and to read God’s Word together. God has been gracious in growing us both spiritually and in number, but our growth and ability to execute our vision has been hampered by the lack of resources, largely due to leaders and members of SBM being committed to various other churches.
In April 2008, under God’s guidance and after careful consideration, the leaders of SBM decided to plant a church service to meet the first Sunday of each month. By God's grace in 2009 we began to meet weekly and we became another congregaton of St Andrew's Anglican Church. Throughout the past year God has blessed us with much spiritual growth and has brought many new people into our reach. We are joyful that God has partnered us with St. Andrew’s Church as we share in his vision of proclaiming the good news of Christ to the ends of the earth.
